Welcome to the Truckee North Tahoe Transportation Management Association!
Who We ARE
The TNT/TMA was formed in 1990, based on the visionary recommendation of a Regional/Urban Design Assistance Team from the American Institute of Architects. By local invitation, the Team conducted an in-depth assessment of land use and transportation challenges in the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee “Resort Triangle.” A key recommendation published in the Final Report (July 17, 1989) was to establish a “Transportation Management Association”and “empower yourselves” to identify and take actions on solutions. Born of spirited grass roots energy and a commitment to the R/UDAT recommendation, the TNT/TMA has been serving the Resort Triangle ever since. A non-profit membership organization, the TNT/TMA is guided by a 15-member Board of Directors, with actions led by two experienced full-time staff.
Our Mission
The Truckee North Tahoe Transportation Management Association (TNT/TMA) is dedicated to fostering public-private partnerships and resources for advocacy and the promotion of innovative solutions to the unique transportation challenges of the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee Resort Triangle.
What We Do
The TNT/TMA is a forum for discussion, consensus, advocacy and action in support of transit, pedestrian, biking, and environmentally sound roadway infrastructure designed to increase access and reduce congestion throughout the Resort Triangle.
We partner with local and regional governments, businesses and resorts, local, state, and federal agencies, other community leaders and advocacy organizations, and elected officials at all levels to ensure the needs of our community are being heard and addressed.
